If only you knew.

You watch me from across the room
wondering what I'm thinking about.
You come closer and ask if I'm alright.
I answer with, "I'm fine, nothing is wrong."
You look me in the eyes and see I'm hiding something
then you say, "It's alright, I know how you feel."
Yet you have no idea what I have to deal with.
The weight of the world sits on my shoulders.
Everyday I fight nightmares to keep you safe.
Most humans would run in fear from these enemies.
I stand and laugh at them.
I know I am stronger, for I do not fight alone.
Every battle I hold those dear to me close in my heart.
They add strength to me and allow me to move forward.
All damage is covered up by wresteling or just messing around.
I look you in the eyes and say, "I know."
Then you throw your arms around me
Tears flow freely from my face.
You wisper in my ear, "I love you."
"I love you too." I reply
I only wish you knew how much.
